Rinker cards 71 for SR

Brett Rinker carded a 71 to earn medalists honors as the Slippery Rock boys golf team placed second at the Region 2 MegaMatch Thursday at the VFW Golf Course.

Hickory placed first with a 327, followed by Slippery Rock (334), Wilmington (336), Grove City (340), West Middlesex (348) and Sharon (356).

Bob Paczkowski (85), Alec Nebel (87) and Matt Badger (91) rounded out the Rockets' foursome while Grove City received a 78 from Matt Gordon, 82 from Dylan Osborne and 90 apiece from Ed Hetrick and Pat Rastatter.

Through three of six Megamatches, Hickory leads with 17 points while Slippery Rock is second with 16.

Knoch 199, Highlands 214 — Jack Boros shot a 1-under 35 at Saxon Golf Course to lead the Knights to this win.Stephon Carlsson shot a 38 and Josh Hennig a 39 for Knoch (4-1), which broke 200 for the first time this season.
