Dorothy M. Bandura

Dorothy M. Bandura, 74, of East Butler died Monday afternoon at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born June 12, 1937, in Lyndora, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Dorothy (Logue) Onufrak.

She had been a sales clerk for the Zayre’s department store in Butler for 10 years, was a member of the St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora, and was an avid bingo player.

Surviving are her sons, Bryan S. Bandura of East Butler and Bruce J. Bandura and his wife, Tabatha, of Butler; a daughter, Bridget Gerstner and her husband, Charles, of Lyndora; four grandchildren, Charles Gerstner Jr., Brandy Bandura, Brady Bandura and Gage Bandura; a great-granddaughter, Hennassey Gerstner; and a sister, Betty Lou Green of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Bandura Jr., who she married Aug. 24, 1957, and who died Oct. 25, 2007; and a grandson, Brice Bandura.

BANDURA — Friends of Dorothy M. Bandura, who died Monday, July 25, 2011, will be received at the

Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Robert Oravetz, pastor of the St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, will officiate.
