The Circus Comes to Town
SLIPPERY ROCK — The Flying Karamazov Brothers are best known for their zany humor, juggling and circus-like performance.
They will bring their vaudevillian show perfect for all family members to Slippery Rock University’s Miller Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 9. This event opens the 2011-12 SRU Performing Arts Series.
The group was launched at Chicago’s Goodman Theatre. Since then, the brothers in name only have performed at the Mayfair Theatre in London’s West End and the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York City.
They starred in the film “The Jewel of the Nile” and have performed with celebrities such as Danny DeVito, Frank Sinatra, The Grateful Dead, The Who, Dolly Parton, Robin Williams and the Smothers Brothers.
They won an Obie Award, the off-Broadway theater award, in 1980.
Paul Magid, show co-founder, director and producer, has created and written numerous shows for the performers.
Tickets are $22 for adults; $20 for senior citizens; $18 for those younger than age 18; and $8 for SRU students. Call 724-738-2018.
