Diana “Babe” Sue Halin, 72, of Butler passed away Thursday at the Forbes Regional Hospital.

She was born July 29, 1938, in Oakland to the late Alexander Ausher and Nellie (Terpak) Ausher.

Mrs. Halin was a housewife, she was the billing clerk at Western Auto and a switchboard operator for People’s Telephone.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 117.

Mrs. Halin loved her three sons, five grandchildren and her five pets (one dog and four cats). She loved her rose and flower gardens, and loved to feed and watch the wild birds. Mrs. Halin was willing to help anyone and any animal in need. She loved to read and cook.

Mrs. Halin is survived by her loving spouse, Lucian Aaron Halin, whom she married on Nov. 7, 1970; three sons, Daniel Minto and his wife, Cindy, of Butler, Michael Ford of Butler, and Scott Halin and his wife, Ami, of Evans City; five grandchildren, Derek and Kelsey Minto, both of Valencia, Amber and Zachary Ford, both of Brackenridge, and Jameson Halin of Evans City.

Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Blessing services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tom Gillespie of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church officiating.Burial will take place in St. Michael’s Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to the Butler Public Library, 218 N.
