Jean M. McNiven, 89, of Butler passed away Sunday evening at her home.

Born in Detroit, Mich., Jan. 10, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Margaret Kean McNiven.

She formerly owned and operated Bayer’s Golf Course on Mercer Road. She also had worked at the Clearview Mall information desk.

She is survived by two daughters, Sherilyn Pyden and her husband, Ken, of Barton, Vt., and Deborah Delano of Butler; eight grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband, Niven Bayer; one son, Scott Bayer; one brother; and six sisters.
