Shilling

Jacqueline B. Shilling passed away June 25 at Concordia Lutheran Home in Cabot after a long illness.

Born Aug. 3, 1927, in Meadow Lands, Washington County, to the late Jacob E. and Minnie Kler Schimmel, Mrs. Shilling was a graduate of Chartiers High School in Houston, Washington County, where she was valedictorian and senior queen. She also was valedictorian of her class at Indiana Normal School, now Indiana (Pa.) University.

Mrs. Shilling was the executive director of the Butler County Housing Authority from 1974 until 1992, where she served with distinction in expanding public housing opportunities in Butler County.

From 1952 to 1968, she lived in Lakeland, Fla., and was involved with Florida Citrus Mutual, a citrus growers' association.

Surviving are her children, Roy Jay Shilling of Butler, David Dee and Franziska Shilling of Warrenton, Va., Eric Maize and Mary Shilling of Southport, N.C., Jacques Reed and Grace Shilling of Sarver and Eleanor Elizabeth and Ralph Manaker of Marshall, Va.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

After the death of both her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Eleanora H. Schimmel, who died in 2002; and her former husband, Fred J. Shilling Jr. who died in 1992.

<B>SHILLING</B> — A funeral service for Jacqueline B. Shilling, who died Saturday, June 25, 2011, will be in the chapel of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, Lund Center, Building Four, at 10 a.m. Friday, July 15. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Private burial will be in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg, Washington County.In lieu of flowers, donations to the Arthritis Foundation Research Fund, 100 W.
