Margaret Crawford

Margaret S. Crawford, 99, of Ford City, formerly of Kittanning, passed away in her 100th year of life Thursday at the ACMH Hospital, Kittanning.

She was born March 31, 1912, in Butler, the daughter of Frederick M. and Iva B. (Ketter) Smith.

Margaret lived a long, fulfilling life and took pride in being a homemaker. She made raising her son a top priority but also took part in many activities outside of the home.

She was a longtime member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Kittanning and enjoyed participating in the Women's Church Circle. Margaret also was president of the former Kittanning Women's Club and was a member of Butler Eastern Star Chapter 45 for 80 years.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Daniel D. Crawford and his wife, Ruth Ann, of Gibsonia; and Margaret's Angels, her caregivers, Esther Cravener, Patty Fiscus and Rachel Wolfe.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Walter P. Crawford, who she married Nov. 7, 1936, and with whom she shared more than 60 loving years of marriage. He died March 3, 1999.

<B>CRAWFORD</B> — Friends of Margaret S. Crawford, who died Thursday, June 23, 2011, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at <B>Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services</B>, 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning, where services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Frederick Leasure officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County.Memorial contributions may be given to the Grace Presbyterian Church, 150 N.
