Leonard F. Baxter, 85, of Chicora passed away Wednesday at the Chicora Medical Center.

He was born April 7, 1926, in Vinton, Va., the son of the late Mundy and Agnes (Carter) Baxter.

Leonard was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II.

He was a laborer for the Duquesne Smelting Co.

Surviving are a son, Anthony Bonds of Huddleston, Va.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Four sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
