Remembering you as we shed a few tears

Of all that you were and all that we miss

Of the longing to hold you and give you a kiss.

It’s been 6 years since your deep voice we heard,

And what we would give, to just hear one word.

Of laughter and friendship and family love

It’s what we would send you in Heaven above.

Today is your birthday, like the day you were born

The Angels that sang with harps and with horns

Will play for you songs, and when they are done

You will know that we love you, our precious son.
