Betty Jane Oros
Betty Jane Oros, 92, of Zelienople, formerly of Ben Avon, died Saturday at the Passavant Retirement Community, Zelienople.
Born Oct. 24, 1918, in Rochester, she was the daughter of the late Orville H. and Marcella Chambordon Chambers.
Mrs. Oros had been an active advocate of Girl Scouts, was employed by the Southwestern Council of Girl Scouts, and served as a member of the state board of directors.
She had been employed with Liken Employment Services in Pittsburgh and the American Heart Association.
Mrs. Oros also served on several community organizations in Zelienople.
She is survived by a daughter, Miriam M. Charlier of Zelienople; four grandchildren, Lisa Long (Steve Czajkowski) of Ben Avon, John Copeland (Christine Jennings) of Fombell, Laura (Dennis) Roberts of Ellwood City and Ron Long (Pam Hunter) of West View; two great-grandchildren, Amber (Wesley) Riddle of Charlotte, N.C., and Jordan Roberts of Ellwood City; and two great-great-grandchildren, Jackson and Trenton Riddle.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Norman C. Martin and Edward J. Oros; a daughter, Marcia R. Long; and a granddaughter, Deborah Copeland.
