Edward McNamara

McNamara

On May 21, Edward McNamara of Christiana, Lancaster County, joined his friend, Jesus our Lord, at the age of 73.

Born and raised in Duquesne, he was the son of Edward and Margaret McNamara.

He was the loving father to his children, Shelly Wurtz, wife of David Wurtz, of Marmora, N.J., Shannon McNamara, husband of Lisa McNamara, of West Grove, Chester County, and Heather McNamara of Berlin, N.J.

Edward was predeceased by his son, Michael McNamara.

He also is survived by his four grandchildren, Connor and John McNamara and David and Jack Wurtz; and his sister, Donna Fendrick of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.

He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Mary McCarty.

Edward greatly loved his children, his grandchildren, and the love of his life, his bride of 50 years, Nancy McNamara.

A history and political science major, Edward graduated from Edinboro (Pa.) University in 1960, married his college sweetheart, Nancy, and moved to Barrington, N.J., where he taught history at Over Brook Regional High School for 35 years.

After retiring, Edward focused on enjoying time with his children and grandchildren, while having fun with his hobbies of bowling, golfing, gourmet cooking and perusing the aisles of the Dutchway and Weiss markets.

Edward lived life to the fullest with his hardy laugh and humble nature. His presence will be missed by many.
