Susan Martin Chase, 49, of Bethel New Wilmington Road, New Wilmington, Wilmington Township, Mercer County, passed away of natural causes at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sharon Regional Hospital.

Susan was born in Grove City, Mercer County, April 29, 1962, to Thomas Claire Martin and Joan Rose Byler Martin.

She married Mark Earle Chase on Dec. 8, 1984.

She graduated from Grove City High School in 1980 and from Grove City College in 1984.

A homemaker, she formerly worked for Kocher Floral in Grove City. She was an antique dealer and was active with gardening, selling day lilies.

Susan was a substitute teacher for the Wilmington High School, an active volunteer with the Wilmington High School Marching Band and served on the high school curriculum committee.

She was a member of the New Wilmington Presbyterian Church, president of the New Wilmington High School Tennis Boosters and a former member of the Tuesday Afternoon Garden Club and the New Wilmington Women's Club.

Survivors include her husband, Mark E.; a daughter, Kathryn Elizabeth Chase; and two sons, Thomas Benjamin Chase and Craig Jeffrey Chase, all of the residence in New Wilmington.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, C. Russell and Alice Leacock Byler; and paternal grandparents, Gibson and Olive Hunt Martin.

<B>CHASE</B> — Friends of Susan Martin Chase, who died Wednesday, June 8, 2011, will be received at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington, from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Monday.
