The retired teachers have traveled to 37 countries, with plans to visit Scotland already in the works.

“I think teachers have a curiosity for learning,” said Pat, who taught fourth grade for more than 30 years at Center Township Elementary School.

Her husband taught health and physical education at Ford City High School and West Hills Elementary School, both in the Armstrong School District.

“We feel that our 60s are the perfect time for traveling,” Pat said. “Life is short, you might as well enjoy this beautiful world.”
