SLIPPERY ROCK — Nick Umberger tossed eight innings of three-hit ball while Michael Durham drove in two runs as the Slippery Rock Sliders blanked the Lorain County Ironmen 3-0 in Prospect League action Thursday at Jack Critchfield Park.

Mitch Elliot tripled home a run in the second inning for the 2-0 lead while David Leon’s RBI single in the seventh inning closed out the scoring for the Sliders (4-3).

Jeff Cola and Jon Koepf had two hits apiece to account for the Ironmen’s (2-5) only hits.
