SRU's Hendershot wins NCAA title
Slippery Rock University senior track and field standout Whitney Hendershot won the NCAA Division II title in the women’s high jump with a height of 1.74 meters Saturday in Turlock, California.
It is the fifth national title in the history of SRU’s outdoor women’s track and field program.
Also turning in strong performances for The Rock’s women were Allison Smith and Lexi Arnold.
They earned All-America honors by placing fourth in the 400-meter hurdles (one minute, 1.77 seconds) and fifth in the javelin (43.75 meters),.
• On the men’s side, SRU’s Cameron Daugherty earned All-American status by finishing sixth in the pole vault (4.93 meters).
