PARKER — Central Electric Cooperative announced five Butler County winners of its 2011 Good Neighbor scholarships.

Each will receive $1,000 to use at a post-secondary educational institution. Candidates were selected based on an essay and an application illustrating their leadership and commitment to their community, church and school.

The winners are: Shirley Trimbur of Karns City High School (Slippery Rock University); Melissa Marshall of Mars High School (Gannon University); Taylor Shaffer of Moniteau High School (Gannon University); Emily Milford of Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School (Slippery Rock University); and Samantha Rosswog of Mars High School (Gannon University).
