BUFFALO TWP — No. 70 came Friday night for Brian Swartzlander.

Competing in the Modified division since 1989, the Leechburg driver of the No. 83 car has moved into first place in all-time feature wins for that division at Lernerville Speedway.

Swartzlander had been tied with the late Lou Blaney at 69 Modified wins at Lernerville before taking the checkered flag Friday night at the Sarver oval.

He beat Rex King Sr., Kevin Hoffman and Slippery Rock’s Dave Murdick to the finish line.

“We’re all about winning races wherever we can, whenever we can,” Swartzlander said two weeks ago. “Just sharing that record with a guy the caliber of Lou Blaney is a tremendous feeling.”

Swartzlander has 142 career feature wins overall.

World of Outlaws Sprint driver Daryn Pittman is in the area this weekend and won the Sprint feature, beating Butler’s Brian Ellenberger to the checkered flag.

Defending Lernerville Late Model points champion Dave Hess Jr. won his second feature of the campaign here and Chris Schneider picked up his first win of the year in the Sportsman Stocks.
