Kildoo gets mark in 3,200 meters
Jacob Kildoo set a District 10 Class AAA record in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 9 minutes, 22.67 seconds to lead a strong showing for Grove City at the district track and field championships on a soggy Wednesday in Harborcreek.
Kildoo broke his own 3,200 record by almost five seconds and easily won the race.
Kildoo also advanced as art of the Eagles' 3,200-meter relay team.
Daniel Jaskowak, who was also on that winning relay team, advanced individually in the 1,600.
Slippery Rock junior Ryan Thompson failed to advance in the 1,600 and 800, placing second in both events. Thompson, though, did break the school record in the 800 with a time of 1:59.62.
On the girls side, Grove City's Eliza Lowe qualified for the state meet in both the 100 and 300 hurdles. She finished second in both events, but reach the state qualifying time in both.
