Imagine the national outrage that would ensue if it came to light that a public school superintendent had knowingly arranged to bring students together with a sexual predator.

In essence, that is what will occur at Mars High School in June, but no one is batting an eyelash because the known sexual predator is a football god, Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Roethlisberger will host the football camp with his name.

Little time has passed since Roethlisberger was accused of sexual assault by a number of women, and he has admitted to non-specific inappropriate conduct on the infamous night in a Georgia bar.

That incident resulted in a set of accusations of sexual impropriety against him.

For star athletes, all that’s needed to be declared rehabilitated is for a short period of time to pass, for them to behave themselves, and for them to read eloquent words of regret.

The Mars School District, its superintendent, and the sponsors of this event (including Highmark, KDKA-TV, McDonald’s and others) should be ashamed.
