Mary (Soley) Yurko
Mary (Soley) Yurko, 95, of Valencia, Middlesex Township, died Sunday.
Born Jan. 12, 1916, in Lyndora, she was the daughter of the late John and Eva (Semanco) Soley.
She was the beloved wife of the late John A. Yurko, who she married in the St. John Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora on Nov. 16, 1946, and who died in April 1992. She also was preceded in death by one son, John A. Yurko; and 10 brothers and sisters, Mary, Anne, John, Helen, Andy, Peter, George, Nick, Frank and Marge.
She was the loving mother of James M. Yurko of Middlesex Township; sister of Paul Soley and Mike Soley, both of Michigan; and dear grandmother of Mary Beth (Michael) Hubik, Peter (Sarah) Yurko and Lauren Yurko. Also surviving are two great-grandsons, John Michael Hubik and Noah Charles Hubik.
Mary was a founding member of the Holy Sepulcher Church, where she was an active parishioner for many years.
She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. Mary's greatest joy in life was making a wonderful home for her husband and sons as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
<B>YURKO </B>— The family of Mary (Soley) Yurko, who died Sunday, March 20, 2011, will welcome friends today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the <B>Schellhaas Funeral Home</B>, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, 724-443-1505. A Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Holy Sepulcher Catholic Church, Glade Mills, with Father John B. Gizler III as celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Michael Cemetery, Butler.The family suggests donations to Holy Sepulcher Church, 1304 E.
