SRU lacrosse knots school record
The Slippery Rock University women’s lacrosse team tied the all-time school record for wins in a season with a 17-7 victory over Edinboro in its season finale Thursday night.
The win was The Rock’s 11th, tying the 1983 team’s victory total.
Senior Amy Halls also broke a record for SRU (11-6) in the win. Halls scored five goals to finish the season with a school-record total of 61.
Halls owns the top three scoring seasons (61, 57 and 53) in Rock women’s lacrosse history.
Senior defender Olivia Lampenfeld moved up to attack and scored the first goal of her career.
Senior captain and two-time All-PSAC performer Brianne Dishong played the second half of her final game on a torn ACL and meniscus.
Slippery Rock’s seniors were on an 0-17 team at The Rock as freshmen.
