Joan Dobrzanski

Joan Rapp Dobrzanski, 87, of Zelienople passed away peacefully Friday at the St. John Specialty Care Center.

Joan was an enthusiastic supporter of her family and a longtime member of the English Lutheran Church.

She has a nursing degree from Pitt and worked as an registered nurse at Shadyside Hospital, the Lutheran Children's Home in Glade Run and at the Passavant Retirement Community.

She was an avid reader, crossword puzzle solver and jigsaw puzzle enthusiast. Joan enjoyed activities with Friends in Christ and excursions with the girls. She also was a talented seamstress and embroiderer, and she baked the best nut rolls.

She is survived by her children, Joanne Dobrzanski of Colliers, W.Va., John Dobrzanski of Zelienople, Richard Dobrzanski (Cathy) of Gaithersburg, Md., and Yvonne Dobrzanski of Zelienople; her sister-in-law, Evelyn Rapp of Scottsboro, Ala.; a niece, Sylvia Rapp Sabia (Art) of Scottsboro; two grandchildren, Joseph and Claire Dobrzanski; and a great-niece, Susan Sabia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Klemens Dobrzanski; and her brother, William Rapp.

<B>DOBRZANSKI </B>— Friends of Joan Rapp Dobrzanski, who died Friday, March 18, 2011, will be received at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be at the English Lutheran Church, 100 N.
