Chris Warning placed second in both the discus and the hammer throw to lead the Slippery Rock University men’s track and field team at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic Saturday.

Warning recorded a throw of 49.14 meters in the discus. He followed that with a toss of 55.31 meters in the hammer throw.

Joseph Kelly also finished in the top 10 in the hammer throw for The Rock.

Women’s LacrosseA late surge by 14th-ranked Bloomsburg University sent the Slippery Rock University women’s lacrosse team to a 10-6 loss that eliminated The Rock from playoff contention.Casey Quinn scored four goals in the defeat. SRU (9-6, 5-6) trailed by a goal at the half.

Women’s GolfMars graduates Kayla Finney and Megan Gibson helped the Grove City College women’s golf team to a third-place finish at the St. Vincent College Bearcat Invitational at Glengarry Links over the weekend.Finney, a freshman, shot a 94 and Gibson carded a 97 for the Wolverines.Grove City, a Division III school, finished behind Division II members Seton Hill and West Virginia Wesleyan.Lindsay Crawford shot a 91 for the Wolverines to place first among Division III competitors.
