Michael Druga
Michael Druga, 83, of Butler died Friday evening at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Lyndora on April 23, 1927, he was a son of Stefan and Julia (Uram) Druga, who are deceased.
Michael graduated from Butler High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He belonged to St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora, and enjoyed all sports, especially football and hockey. He was an avid hunter.
Michael retired from the Crucible Steel Midland Works, and was a member of the American Legion Post 778 in Lyndora, the Slovak Sokol Society and the Butler Elks 170.
Michael is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lucille H. (Myndus) Druga, who he married Oct. 27, 1962.
He also is survived by four sisters, Helen Leavitt and her husband, Stan, of Slippery Rock; Margaret Jarecki of Butler; Dorothy DeSantis of New Port Richey, Fla.; and Evelyn Prokopchak and her husband, Paul, of Phoenix, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Mudrick, Julia Sandloop, and Anne Tanis; and his brothers, Nicholas Druga and Andy Druga.
<B>DRUGA</B> — Friends of Michael Druga, who died Friday evening, March 11, 2011, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. today at <B>GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 105 Kohler Ave., Lyndora. The Rev. Robert Oravetz, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Butler.Parastas services will be at 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church.
