Bruno Zuccala

Bruno Zuccala of Butler will be inducted April 10 into the Pennsylvania Drum Corps Hall of Fame at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Harrisburg.This is his 45th year of participation in drum and bugle corps activity. In 1966, he became a member of the General Butler Vagabonds.He has been a performer, instructor and administrator within the activity and currently is a staff member for the Holy Name Cadets in Allentown and the Boston Crusaders in Boston.He has also taught in Bergamo, Italy, and in Japan.He is employed as an intervention specialist in the Seneca Valley School District.He is the son of Bruno and Jennie Zuccala of Butler.———A number of students in the Butler School District recently garnered honors.• The Butler Intermediate High School 2010 yearbook staff has been recognized for its yearbook design and journalistic coverage by Balfour Yearbooks, Dallas. Jennifer Harris earned third place March 4 in the Japanese Speech and Language Contest sponsored by the Japan-America Society of Pennsylvania. She participated in a memorized speech competition at the University of Pittsburgh.• Twenty students from grades seven through 10 won first place awards Feb. 26 at the 54th Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science competition at Slippery Rock University. Standout Lake Sanky received two first awards, one in science and one in math.
