BUTLER TWP — Butler High School will host a regional band festival Wednesday to Friday. It is one of six in the state by the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association.

A total of 151 high school musicians from 71 school districts in Butler, Beaver, Lawrence, Mercer, Allegheny, Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties will participate.

The festival will culminate with a public concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the high school auditorium. Tickets will be on sale at the door for $3.

During the event, students will audition to represent their schools in the association’s state band April 13-16 in Hershey.

Hosting the festival are high school music teachers Andrew Yaracs and Barbara Bailey. The guest conductor will be Stephen Gage from Youngstown State University.
