Minnie E. Cotten

Minnie E. Cotten, 83, of Butler died at 3:24 a.m. Wednesday in Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Sept. 22, 1927, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Frank Kaufold and Margaret Dunbar Kaufold.

Mrs. Cotten was a member of the Christ Community United Methodist Church.

She was a homemaker, and she had worked as a nurses aide at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Cotten enjoyed her grandchildren, playing cards and gardening.

Surviving are one son, the Rev. Ralph and his wife, the Rev. Lori, Cotten of Sharpsville; one daughter, Marcy Moody of Butler; four grandchildren, Sheldon Cotten, Bronwyn and her husband, Anthony, Farinelli and Megan and Chuck Moody; two great-grandchildren, Riley and Sophia Moody; one sister, Mrs. Jane Reibert of Monroeville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Cotten was preceded in death by her husband, Festus P. Cotten Jr., who passed away Jan. 22, 2010; two sons, Merle Cotten and Frank Arndt; one daughter, Marge Sanderson; four brothers; and one sister.

<B>COTTEN </B>— Friends of Minnie E. Cotten, who died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, will be received at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler, Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Howard Burrell, of Christ Community United Methodist Church, officiating. Private burial will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N.
