Gerald Bergbigler

Gerald L. Bergbigler, 84 of Cabot passed away Wednesday at the Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born Aug. 27, 1926, in Butler, he was the son of Albert and Goldie (Stewart) Bergbigler.

He worked as a laborer for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, retiring in 1986.

He was a member of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, the Sarver Veterans Club, and the Saxonburg Fireman's Club.

He enjoyed collecting cans, spending time with his friends at the Sarver Vets, watching cowboys on television, and spending quality time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, Thelma V. (Andre) Bergbigler; his three sons, Gerald C. (Donna) Bergbigler of Butler, Douglas (Mary Ellen) Bergbigler of Cabot, and Samuel Bergbigler of Cabot; his three daughters, Patty Jo (David) Erceg of Natrona Heights, Deby (Bob) Dicello of Gaithersburg, Md., and Marysue (Herb) Hitchen of Saxonburg, his brother, Vince Bergbigler of Butler; his grandchildren, Deela, Deanna, Danielle, Devin, Shawn Michael and Douglas Stephen; and his great-grandchild, Emma Rose.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters, an infant daughter, and an infant grandchild.

<B>BERGBIGLER</B> — Friends of Gerald L. Bergbigler, who died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery in Herman.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023.Information also is available at www.foxfuneralhomeinc.com.
