Mary Elaine Cranmer
Mary Elaine Cranmer, 82, of 518 Superior St, Grove City, died at 7 p.m. Monday at her home. She had been ill since June 2010.
Born in Slippery Rock Township, Feb. 29, 1928, she was the daughter of Milton Herbert Hockenberry and Myrtle Marie Albert Hockenberry.
She married Dwight Paul Cranmer on Feb. 6, 1948, and he died Oct. 2, 1992.
Mary Elaine worked as office manager with her husband's business, the former Cranmer and Sons Equipment Co., in Slippery Rock, from 1956 to 1978. During the 1940s, she had a job that she enjoyed dearly, being the assistant manager of the former Isaly's store in Grove City.
She was a member of St Peter Catholic Church, Slippery Rock.
Surviving are her children, Kathleen Erbaugh and her husband, Michael, of Eaton, Ohio, Pamela Ross and her husband, James, of Grove City, and Gregory P. Cranmer of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a son-in-law, Thomas Sutton of Butler; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Georgette Houston and her husband, Bill, of Hermitage; and a brother, Rodney Hockenberry and his wife, Virginia, of Grove City.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Dwight Cranmer in 1976; a daughter, Patricia Ann Sutton in 2010; five sisters, Dorothy Hockenberry, Joan Sterling, Bertha Metcalf, Alta Boozel and Verda Allison; and three brothers, Cecil, Arthur and Paul Hockenberry.
<B>CRANMER</B> — Funeral services for Mary Elaine Cranmer, who died Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, will be at <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City, Friday at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Father Kevin G. Poecking of the St. Peter Parish officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday from 2 until the time of service at 4 p.m. Burial will be in Slippery Rock Cemetery.Contributions in Mrs. Cranmer’s memory may be made to Family Hospice and Palliative Care, 1965 Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage, PA 16148.
