Ellis 'Bud' Cogley

Ellis E. “Bud” Cogley, 60, of 210 Ekastown Road, Sarver, Buffalo Township, died at 7:10 a.m. Saturday in the Good Samaritan Hospice of Concordia, Jefferson Township, following a courageous three-year battle with breast cancer.

He was born Jan. 27, 1950, in Harrison Township, a son of the late Ellis H. “Bill” Cogley and Mary C. (McWilliams) Cogley.

He lived in Buffalo Township for the past 38 years. Before that, he lived in Freeport.

He was a maintenance foreman at the Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp., Brackenridge, employed for 36 years and retired in 2005.

Mr. Cogley was a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Worship Site, Natrona Heights.

He was a 1967 graduate of Freeport High School.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing, and he made his own golf clubs. He also was a NASCAR fan and a Steelers fan.

Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Sandra L. (Petit) Cogley; sons, Daniel G. Cogley and Christopher M. (Meghan) Cogley, both of Tarentum; grandchildren, Garrett A. Cogley and Rebecca L. Cogley, both of Tarentum; a brother, William G. “Bill” Cogley of Allegheny Township; sisters-in-law, Barbara (Dennis) Pacek of Butler and Amy (Joseph) Gettinger of Creighton; nieces and nephews, Dr. Corey (Athena) Pacek of Shaler Township, Carley (Robert) Wyant of Economy, Tate (Becky) Pace of Saxonburg and Melissa, Rachel and Jonathan Gettinger, all of Creighton; great-nephews and a great-niece, Jackson Pacek, Zane Pacek and Deianira Pacek, all of Shaler Township and Dexter Wyant of Economy; and his two cats, Butterscotch and Lucifer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother in 1945.

<B>COGLEY</B> — Relatives and friends of Ellis E. “Bud” Cogley, who died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the <B>DUSTER FUNERAL HOME</B>, 10th Avenue at Corbet St., Tarentum, 724-224-1526. A Christian funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church.
