Aaron Mohnkern
Aaron Paul Mohnkern, 37, of Mercer passed away Thursday at home, surrounded by his family, including the dogs, after a six-year battle with PMP cancer.
He was born Sept. 3, 1973, in Oil City to John and Carol Mohnkern.
He was employed by PPT in Harmony as a machinist.
He attended English Lutheran Church in Zelienople.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 14 years, Jodie (Ayres) Mohnkern; his sister, Amy Middleton and her husband, Jim; and seven nieces and nephews, Jacob Middleton, Benn Middleton, Christopher Heusey, Chloe Heusey, Stephanie Cole, Sarah Cole and Emma Heusey.
<B>MOHNKERN</B> — Friends of Aaron Paul Mohnkern, who died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, will be received at <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 144 Pitt St., Mercer, Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m.Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute-PMP Research Fund. Make checks payable to UPCI-PMP Research Fund and on the memo line of the check please write “In memory of Aaron Mohnkern.” Please send checks to the UPCI Development Department, UPMC Cancer Pavilion-Suite 1B, 5150 Center Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15232.
