Ralph J. Brown
Ralph J. “Junior”, “Brownie” Brown, 88, of Butler passed away at 10:25 p.m. Sunday at the Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice following a short illness.
He was born Sept. 8, 1922, in Butler County. He was the son of the late Ralph A. Brown and the late Mildred Ekis Brown.
He was a member of the Muddycreek United Presbyterian Church.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator for the Perry Coal Co.
He enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Esther M. McCall Brown, who he married May 9, 1949; two daughters, Mrs. William (Judy) Foringer of Butler and Mrs. Tony (Jane) Leo of Harmony; four grandchildren, Desmond, Shawn, Steven and Michael; and two great-granddaughters, Makayla and Serenity. Also surviving are one sister, Sylvia Webb of Butler; and one brother, Boyd Brown of Ohio.
He was preceded in death one sister and four brothers.
<B>BROWN </B>— Friends of Ralph J. “Junior”, “Brownie” Brown, who died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, will be received at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The family also will receive friends at the Muddycreek United Presbyterian Church Thursday for an hour before the 11 a.m. funeral service. The Rev. Matt Kail, his pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Muddycreek United Presbyterian Church or the Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001.
