John F. Reiner

John F. Reiner, 86, of Chicora died at 1:18 p.m. Tuesday in Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Glenshaw, Allegheny County, July 29, 1924, the son of the late John F. Reiner and the late Molly Stromski Reiner.

A retired carpenter, Mr. Reiner had worked for 50 years for the Carpenters Union out of Butler Local 500.

John was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was a member of Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church, Chicora.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Mary F. Rettig Reiner, who he married Nov. 24, 1960; a daughter, Mary Ann Hilderbrand and her husband, Tim, of Chicora; two grandchildren, Theresa and Charles Hilderband of Chicora; and a sister, Betty Valenti and her husband, Armond, of Lakeland, Fla.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Reiner, Catherine Bowser and AnaMae Jedlanek; and two infant brothers.

<B>REINER</B> — Friends of John F. Reiner, who died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at <B>STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME</B>, 111 E. Slippery Rock and Main streets in Chicora. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 409 N. Main St., Chicora, with the Rev. Joseph Pudichery, pastor, officiating.
