HARRISBURG — Gov. Tom Corbett, who was inaugurated last month, is heading to the Super Bowl with the family that owns the Pittsburgh Steelers.

A spokeswoman said Corbett flew on a chartered jet to the snow-covered Dallas area Friday with the Rooney family. Sunday's game pits the Steelers against the Green Bay Packers in Arlington, Texas. Corbett is from the Pittsburgh area.

Spokeswoman Kirsten Page says Corbett is paying his own way, including for the tickets that the Steelers gave him. Page says she doesn't know exactly how much Corbett paid for the tickets or the flight, because he's using his own money.

Page says the governor will be sitting with his wife, Susan.

It's common for the Steelers to offer Super Bowl tickets to public officials, including governors.
