Verda C. 'Sue' Grossman
Verda C. “Sue” Grossman, 56, of Harrisville passed away at 10:17 p.m. Thursday at UPMC Northwest.
Born in Grove City, April 28, 1954, she was the daughter of Merl N. Hoffman, who survives, and Sarah R. (Van Dyke) Hoffman, who is deceased.
Sue was a 1972 graduate of Franklin High School. She had worked in the offices of Adobe Mining and in the offices of Palmer Smith Co., Grove City.
Sue was a member of the Barkeyville Church of God, Barkeyville, the White Shrine of Jerusalem Grove City Chapter 53, and the Clintonville Women's Club.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Sue married Garner L. Grossman on March 11, 1972. He survives her, along with two daughters and one son.
Her daughters and their spouses are Brandi L. and Larry D. Ealey of Harrisville and Rebecca J. and Edward P. Kelly of Springfield, Pa. Her son and his spouse are Daniel L. and Brooke A. Grossman of Harrisville.
She also is survived by sisters, Merlene Martin, Betty Lang, Helen Hoffman and Rue Finch; brothers Edward Hoffman, David Hoffman, Randy Hoffman and Robert Hoffman; and her father's special friend, Marge.
Her grandchildren who survive her are Jordan and Kait Ealey, Jack and Erin Kelly, Aidan and Easton Grossman and Jaelynn Collins.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Hoffman, and her granddaughter, Alexandra Ealey.
