Mercedes Haggart
Mercedes “Cedes” Haggart, 94, of Cherokee Drive, Butler, died at 9:31 p.m. Wednesday at her home.
Born Nov. 28, 1916, in Natrona, she was the daughter of the late William L. George and Rose M. (Baechtel) George.
Mrs. Haggart was a member of the Hill United Presbyterian Church.
She was a lab assistant at Butler Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1977.
Mrs. Haggart enjoyed quilting, crocheting and baking.
Mrs. Haggart is survived by two daughters, Shirley M. Haggart of Butler and Jean (Paul) Archer of Summerfield, Fla.; one sister, Delores Jonczak of Tarentum; two nieces; and five nephews.
Mrs. Haggart was preceded in death by her husband, James (Alex) Haggart, who she married March 23, 1935, and who passed away Feb. 23, 1966; and two sisters, Virginia Schott of Natrona Heights and Rita Murdock of Whiting, N.J.
<B>HAGGART</B> — Friends of Mercedes “Cedes” Haggart, who died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, will be received at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Clark Sawyer, of Hill United Presbyterian Church, and the Rev. C.F. Hoffman, of New Galilee Presbyterian Church, officiating.
