Louis J. Bosco, 87, of Lancaster Township, Harmony, died Saturday at UPMC Passavant hospital.

Born Nov. 28, 1923, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Andrew and Palma Bosco.

Mr. Bosco was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, earning a bachelor's in writing and a master's in library science.

He retired as corporate librarian for the Neville Chemical Co. after more than 30 years.

Mr. Bosco was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

He enjoyed sailing at Moraine State Park and loved writing poetry and short stories.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jean V. (Sommers) Bosco, who he married June 30, 1953; two daughters, Lisa B. Smyers and her husband, Dr. James Smyers, D.D.S., of Economy and Leah B. Bosco of Harmony; and a sister, Rose M. Tintelnot of Dormont.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Blanche Miele.
