George A. Fragale
George A. Fragale, 83, of Butler, passed away Christmas Eve at the VA Butler Healthcare surrounded by his family.
Born in Butler on Nov. 9, 1927, he was the son of the late Dominic and Sylvia Grigoletti Fragale.
He was employed at Pullman Standard as a crane hook-up for 20 years until the plant closed. He formerly owned the Viaduct Inn on Center Avenue, and he also was formerly employed at Allen's Produce.
He was a graduate of the Butler High School Class of 1946.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Codispot Fragale, to who he was married for 56 years; two sons, the honorable Robert D. Fragale and his wife, Peggy, of Prospect, Ohio, and William J. Fragale and his wife, Nicki, of Butler; a daughter, Sharon Rose Fragale of Gainesville, Ga.; four grandchildren, Erin M. Margraf and her husband, Nick, of Waldo, Ohio, Matthew D. Fragale of Columbus, Ohio, Robert A. Fragale of Columbus, Ohio, and Mary A. Fragale of Prospect, Ohio; and two step-grandchildren, U.S. Navy Seaman Michael Curran of Butler and Holly Beggs and her husband, Adam, of Butler.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
<B>FRAGALE — </B>Friends of George A. Fragale, who died Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>MARTIN FUNERAL HOME,</B> 429 Center Ave., Butler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Wednesday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. Burial will take place in St. Michael's Cemetery.The bereavement group of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church will meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home to conduct a Scriptural Wake Service.The family requests memorial donations be made to Marion Catholic High School, 1001 Mt.
