Pittsburgh casino OK'd to expand table games

PITTSBURGH — Rivers Casino in the city has gotten approval from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board to expand its table games and build a 15,000-square-foot ballroom.

The casino says in a statement that the gaming board on Wednesday approved its request to add a dozen more blackjack tables, four poker tables and several roulette tables.

The casino says it plans to hire about 100 more workers and anticipates that the new tables will be available for play in mid-March.

Adding the extra games, will give the casino 107 table games, third most in the state.

Casino officials say the ballroom will help the casino book more events and draw more gamblers.
