Mary Eva McCreery, 88, of Butler passed away Sunday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia after a year's battle with cancer.

She was born Oct. 12, 1922, in Bakerstown, the daughter of the late Leonard and Frances Hauserman.

She was a member of the Sarver Wesleyan Methodist Church.

Mary married William McCreery on Aug. 19, 1939. She served beside her beloved husband as he pastored four churches in Ohio and Pennsylvania for more than 22 years. She not only served as a pastor's wife, she also taught children's Sunday school and was the treasurer of her church.

Her servant's heart and joyful attitude will be sorely missed by her family as well as neighbors, friends and all whose lives she touched.

The family wishes to thank the many angels at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia who so gently and lovingly cared for and loved her the final week of her life. There are truly no words to express the depth of gratitude we feel for all you did for her and for our family.

Mary is survived by her husband of 71 years, the Rev. William H. McCreery; a daughter, Judith Dunn and her husband, Russell, of Butler; a son, Robert and his wife, Marolyn, of Weatherford, Texas; a sister, Alice Frank of Cabot; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and three sisters.

<B>MCCREERY </B>— Friends of Mary Eva McCreery, who died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, will be received today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main Street, Saxonburg. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Duvall officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Wesleyan Methodist Cemetery, Stoneboro.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice Inpatient Unit, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023.Information also is available at www.foxfuneralhomeinc.ocm.
