Daniel H. Bair, 81, of Buffalo Township passed away Saturday while in the company of family members at Fair Winds Manor, Winfield Township.

Daniel was born in Lower Burrell, July 20, 1929, the son of the late Vernon C. and Ella J. (Frederick) Bair.

He was a bail machine operator for T.W. Phillips for 34 years, retiring in 1987. After retiring, he worked at the Bergly Gas Co. for more than 10 years.

He attended the Slate Lick United Presbyterian Church, and he enjoyed fixing lawn mowers and small engines and hunting.

He is survived by his daughter, Donna L. (Albert) Johns of East Franklin Township; a son, Jeffrey D. (Rebecca) Bair of Winfield Township; and five grandchildren, Pamela Johns of East Franklin Township, Timothy Johns of East Franklin Township, Heather (David) Arvay of Arnold, Jarrod Bair of Butler and Alison (Justin) Bair of Winfield Township. He also is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Addison and Amelia Johns and Emma Bair; a brother; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Daniel was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Helen Marie (Shanafelt) Bair, who passed away Dec. 18, 2006; and a brother Bernard C. Bair.

<B>BAIR </B>— Family and friends of Daniel H. Bair, who died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the <B>Redmond Funeral Home</B>, 524 High St., Freeport. A funeral service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Davis officiating.
