Katherine Gaiser
Katherine “Jean” (Hilliard) Gaiser, 79, formerly of Prospect, passed away Tuesday morning at her home in Spruce Wood Commons, Slippery Rock, where she had lived for a year.
She was born Aug. 20, 1931, in Prospect and was the daughter of the late Carl Hilliard and Mary Kennedy Hilliard Bupp.
She was a member of Presbyterian Church of Prospect, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and sang in the church choir.
She owned and operated Gaiser Beauty Shop in Prospect for a number of years. She was passionate about hair, and even after retirement, she continued to do hairstyling at Raisley Funeral Home in Prospect for many years.
She enjoyed her friends, singing, music, volunteering at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in the 1970s, and raising Jack Russell dogs.
She is survived by her children, Douglas (Ginger) Badger of Long Beach, Calif., and JoNell (Douglas) Yard of Harrisville; her grandchildren, Holly (Jeff) Madrid of Colorado, Nate Badger of California, Marybeth (Tim) Miller of Grove City, and Cheston Yard of Harrisville; and great-grandchildren Adalyn and Stella Madrid and Brynna and Charlie Miller.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Leroy “Lee” Gaiser, who passed away July 27, 2008; one son, Greg Badger; two sisters; and one brother.

Raisley Funeral Home</B>, 387 Main St., Prospect. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Rob Allison, her church pastor, officiating.
