Raymond Hornick

Raymond J. Hornick, 87, of Mars died Sunday evening at the VNA Hospice in Butler.

Born in Wexford, April 14, 1923, he was the son of Stephan and Anna Feschak Hornick.

Raymond was a retired pipe fitter for Halstead and Mitchell in Zelienople.

He had served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a technician fifth grade with the 176th Engineer Combat Battalion. He was a member of the Mars VFW Post 7505.

A ham-radio operator, he belonged to the Ham Radio Operator's Association of Pennsylvania.

He was a Catholic.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Mills Hornick, who he married Dec. 20, 1950; a daughter, Linda Pierallini, and her husband, Fred, of Lexington, S.C., and two grandchildren, Dominick J. Pierallini and Frankie Ray Buccilli.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Buccilli. As the last surviving member of his immediate family, he was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
