Joyce Pape Carson
Joyce Ann Pape Carson, 73, of Butler died at 1:38 a.m. Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 11, 1937, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Herman H. Pape and Dorothy I. Powell Pape Kerr.
Mrs. Carson was a homemaker, and in her earlier years, she worked at the Montgomery Ward store and then at Troutman's. She also was an Avon sales representative.
She was a member of the Fenelton United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher.
She enjoyed her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed fishing and reading Amish books and her Bible. She loved to listen to Gaither Christian music. She also was a den mother with the Cub Scouts.
Mrs. Carson is survived by her husband, David E. Carson Sr., who she married June 30, 1956; four daughters, Barbara and her husband, Steve Couch, of Chicora, Davette L. Carson of Butler, Jacqueline and her husband, Randall Regal, of Portersville and Dorothy Cyprian of Butler; eight grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; three sisters, Louise Yingling of Butler, Marcia Graham of Allison Park, and Marjorie and her husband, Paul Smith, of Clarion; and a number of nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carson was preceded in death by one son, David E. Carson Jr.
<B>CARSON</B> — Friends of Joyce Ann Pape Carson, who died Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, will be received at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler, Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon. Services will immediately follow at noon at the funeral home with Pastor Sheila Auer of the Fenelton United Methodist Church and Pastor Sherry Cook of Green Hills-Fairmont United Methodist Church in West Findley, Pa., officiating.
