Edith Mae Marlowe

Edith Mae Marlowe, 82, of Butler passed away Saturday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Sept. 6, 1928, in Evans City, the daughter of the late Roy T. and Jessie (Hudson) Walker.

Edith was a member of the White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years.

She had worked as a beautician for many years. She also worked for the Slippery Rock School District and for Paragon.

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and camping. She was a caring and loving mother, wife and grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving are her husband of 62 years, William T. Marlowe Sr., who she married Dec. 11, 1948; three daughters, Kathy Buerkle of Butler, Diane (Regis) Kemper of Prospect and Wendy (Dave) Hazlet of West Sunbury; a son, W. Thomas (Maggie) Marlowe Jr. of Harmony; a daughter-in-law, Robin Marlowe of Rimersburg; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Terry L. Marlowe; a sister; and a brother.

<B>MARLOWE </B>— Friends of Edith Mae Marlowe, who died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, will be received at <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday. Services will follow at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Tuesday with her pastor, the Rev. W. Lee Dreyer, officiating.
