BELLE VERNON — Numerous Butler County hockey players will be participating in the PIHL All-Star Games Jan. 23 at Rostraver Ice Gardens.

Four games are scheduled that day, with the Open Division playing at 11:30 a.m., Class A at 1:30 p.m., Class AA at 3:30 and Class AAA at 5:30.

Forwards Jake Tomasovic of Butler and Cody Siegfried of Seneca Valley will play for the Southwest stars in the Class AAA game. Tomasovic has seven goals and 13 assists for the Golden Tornado while Siegfried has eight goals and two assists for the Raiders.

The players lead their respective teams in scoring.

Undefeated Mars has four players on the Class A Southwest squad: forwards Elliot Tisdale and Nick Blaney, defenseman Kevin Leslie and goaltender Tyler Stepke.

Tisdale leads the Planets with 16 goals and 20 assists. Blaney has 11 goals and 13 assists, Leslie has 11 assists. Stepke is 8-0 with a 0.571 goals against average. He has stopped 100 of 104 shots.

Mars is 12-0 on the campaign and has outscored opponents 89-12.

Knoch’s Todd Eshelman will be one of the coaches for the Southwest team. The Knights have two players participating: forward Nathaniel Medic (10 goals, 12 assists) and defenseman Matt Eshelman (11 goals, 4 assists).

Freeport has three players on the Northeast squad in the Class A game. Forward Jon Hill has a goal and five assists, defenseman Dalton Moore has three goals and five assists, and goaltender Cody Lee has a 3.64 goals-against average.
