SEWICKLEY — A Pittsburgh-area woman got 18 months probation for molesting her son's 16-year-old friend after her then-14-year-old son reported the incident.

Forty-three-year-old Cassandra Sproch of Sewickley was sentenced for indecent assault, corruption of minors and 12 other counts.

She made dinner for her son and three friends while serving them wine and dressing seductively in December 2009. Her son and another boy later found her kissing and fondling the 16-year-old and pulled him from her bedroom.

Sproch was fired as a dance teacher at a Propel charter school because of the charges.

SHARON HILL — Using a cone or a piece of furniture to save a parking space after you’ve cleared snow from it might be a tradition in the Philadelphia area, but in one township, it could cost you.Commissioners in Delaware County’s Darby Township approved an ordinance Wednesday night to ban the practice and impose a fine of up to $300 on violators. Another part of the ordinance would fine people caught shoveling snow back onto a road that’s been plowed.Township manager John Ryan said the township is just enforcing a portion of the state motor vehicle code that bars obstructing highways.
