Joseph Leroy Weil

Weil

Joseph Leroy Weil, 26, of Marion Township, Beaver County, walked through the gates of Heaven to be with his Lord and Savior with his “infamous smile” on his face Wednesday. Joey was killed tragically in a farming accident on the family farm.

Joey loved farming and it was his passion. He was a 2004 graduate of the Riverside School District and the Beaver County VoTech. While at VoTech, he was a member and an officer of FFA. He also was a member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau. Additionally, he was a lifelong member of St. John's (Burry's) Church in New Sewickley Township.

He was very involved in many church programs, such as toddler church, Bible club and the youth group. The work that he did with the various youth programs and camps was very valued and he was greatly loved for his dedication to them. He was also in charge of parking for all of the various church events as well as for maintaining and driving the church vans. Each Sunday, you could find Joey in the bell tower to ensure that the bells in the steeple were rung precisely on time for the services to begin. He also was an active member of the Church's volleyball and softball teams.

In addition to working on the family farm, Joey also worked part time at the Zelienople Shop-N-Save. Many of the customers, and especially those from Passavant, will miss him greatly. He was always right there to help anyone and always with a smile. The customers would ask for help, but only if they could have Joey.

Joey loved hunting and was so proud of getting his first deer just a few weeks ago.

He was loved by everyone as his personality and his big smile always would bring warmth to everyone's heart. Joey never met anyone he didn't like. Anyone who knew Joey loved him as well.

Joey loved life. He lived every day to its fullest and never let a moment go by that he didn't cherish. He shared his love with everyone. He touched more lives in his short 26 years on God's earth than many people could touch in a lifetime!

He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Joanne (Yeck) Weil; two brothers, Thomas Weil Jr., and Matthew Weil and his fiancée Elizabeth “Liz” Fickley; his grandmother, Patricia Weil; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Beatrice Yeck and Archie “Butch” Weil.
