Lillian Sarah Wood Bowser McCulloch

Lillian Sarah Wood Bowser McCulloch, 84, of Erie, formerly of Butler, died Saturday.

She was born in Butler on Feb. 9, 1926, and was the daughter of Susie E. Wood Brown and Frank Wood, and the stepdaughter of Stewart Brown.

Lillian proudly worked 25 years for the Butler School District Food Service, retiring in 1985. She also spent many years demonstrating Stanley Home Products.

Lillian was a member of the North Street Christian Church in Butler.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Banford Bowser Jr. who died Jan. 22, 1971; her second husband, Gordon McCulloch, who died Nov. 11, 2004; five brothers; three sisters; and a grandchild.

Lillian was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving Lillian are three children: a son, John “Jack” Gordon Bowser (Joyce) of Reno, Nev.; two daughters, Sandra Sue Krogen (Mel) of Castaic, Calif., and Karen Marie McCurdy (Gary) of Erie; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family wishes to thank everyone at Erie Presbyterian Lodge for their wonderful care during Lillian's time there.

<B>MCCULLOCH </B>— The arrangements of Lillian Sarah Wood Bowser McCulloch, who died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, are being handled by <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, Butler.
