Michael Fitz Jr., 87, of Penn Township died Monday evening in Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born Oct. 23, 1923, in Wilkes-Barre and was the son of the late Michael and Olga (Kotchan) Fitz Sr.

He retired from BP Motor Express in Pittsburgh, where he worked as an accountant.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He was a volunteer driver for the Glade Mills Meals on Wheels.

He enjoyed cards, horseshoes, softball, bowling and walking the dog.

He is survived by his wife, Marion Barnhart Fitz, who he married June 18, 1949; his children, James (Cathy) Fitz of Renfrew, Barbara (John) Breitenbach of Penn Township, Janet Jenkins of Shaler Township, Michael T. (Shawnee) Fitz of Charleston, S.C., Thomas (Eileen) Fitz of Forward Township and Patricia (Dennis) Bruce of Wexford; 12 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and his sister, Bernice Hauser of North Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

<B>FITZ </B>— Visitation for Michael Fitz Jr., who died Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the <B>Herbert R. King Jr. Funeral Home</B>, 2841 Woodland Circle, Allison Park. A Mass of Christian burial will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, 1304 E. Cruikshank Road in Middlesex Township, with Father Al Semler officiating. Please meet at the church.
